This is a research placement. Interns are involved in research on fruit trees, mainly apples. Relevant education required. Excellent placement in a very nice location. Very interesting, career-building internship for people interested in fruit production, harvest, storage and lab work.
For 2011 we may have at least 6-7 spots for this internship. We have had only excellent feedback from interns at this location in 2010 and before. We are recruiting now.
106 Food Processing HI 1 October for 12 months
Lovely coffee plantation and reseller. Very interesting internship in the most beautiful place in the USA - Hawaii. Interns will be involved in coffee production, blending, sales and general duties related to horticulture.
We have had excellent feedback from interns at this host. This can be the most amazing year of your life. Couples that are willing to share a room are preferred because of the housing situation but single students with good experience in coffee should apply as well.
119 Greenhouse NY 1 September for 12 months
This is a greenhouse operation with a very large sales department. Qualified interns are involved with merchandising - delivering potted plants to Home Depot and other large clients, setting up the plants on display and maintaining the inventory. Other interns are placed in the production department.
Merchandising interns have to have good driving records and be able to drive a small truck in busy traffic. They have to speak very good English and be comfortable dealing with customers. Production interns should have some documented experience in greenhouses. This is an excellent placement for the right interns, highly recommended by past participants!
120 Greenhouse OH 1 September for 12 months
Excellent greenhouse operation in Ohio. This is a very good internship for the best applicant. You have to show that you have very serious interest in ornamental plants production. Some past experience required. Good English required.
This internship will start as soon as you can get here, the sooner the better. Males only because of the housing situation. Excellent housing and transportation is provided by the host.
126 Crop farms ND, MN, MT 10 April November
Placements with large crop farms growing Corn, Canola, Wheat, Sugar Beet. Larger, modern machinery.
Applicants must be experienced and skilled with operating heavy agricultural machinery, very motivated, ready for challenge, ready for long days during the harvest season,excellent team-player, have good English skills and a driving license.
127 Dairy Farm IN 2 September September
Dairy Goat farm. 500 Dairy goats. Internship involves feeding, breeding, kidding, milking and general goat husbandry duties.
Applicants must be keen to learn about dairy goats and dedicated to the dairy industry. Placement is for 12-months. Housing and local transport provided. Drivers license essential.
